The Federation of Small Businesses is the largest campaigning pressure group promoting and protecting the interests of the self-employed and owners of small firms. Formed in 1974, it now has over 210,000 members across 33 regions and 230 branches.

The Prince's Trust Business Programme provides money and support to help people start up in business. The programme is for people who are:
- aged 18-30
- unemployed or working less than 16 hours a week
- living in England, Wales or Northern Ireland
